Today's March Kindness Challenge: Teamwork is Better. Who can you support? Who can you thank for being on your team whether work or personal? Whose social media post can you like or share to spread your network's greatness? Whose services can you recommend to a friend? Teamwork provides diversity of thought, creativity, perspectives, opportunities and problem solving approaches. Working together allows us to brainstorm collectively, which in turn increases our success to problem solve and arrive at solutions more efficiently and effectively. Personally, the more I team with others, the better the end result. In each case, those that I am collaborating with, we compliment each other and are stronger as a team. A few examples are below:
We challenge you to pick up at least one piece of trash you see today. Blaine and I noticed a pile of trash at Audrey's practice soccer field last week. Last night we cleaned up all the trash around the property. We had such a blast - we will continue on Wednesday night's practice as we still have more to go on the property. Today we honor our teachers. Personally, I am a life long student and see teachers in each person I met. We all have had individuals who have challenged us to see a different point of view. Take a moment to send a note of gratitude to one or more of your teachers. I am honoring Audrey and Blaine today and they are honoring their school teachers. Who will you honor? We would love to hear from you. I have found taking quiet time each day is the secret to being balanced. With this balance, time expands to do all of my heart's desires. Life flows.....today I am sharing with you my free relaxation audios of 3-5 minutes. Click to explore the options.
We all have many talents that we utilize to give back to others. Today, think about ways you could use your unique gifts to be kind and spread joy.
Below are a few ideas from my family, friends and me: 1.) I officially joined Virginia Tech's Collegiate Women in Business Mentorship Program to work with women entering the workforce. I am elated to share what I have learned over the years. I wish I had more prominent mentors when in college. 2.) I am joining forces with Kathy from Wee Play to provide monthly classes on mindful parenting to the families at our local homeless shelter. My neighbor/yoga student Savanna asked to help in the March Kindness Challenge, so her and Audrey compiled the bags for the families. I am giving away my own personal creations which feels AMAZING and my friend Missy made the eye pillows. Teamwork!!! 3.) Audrey loves to create and is extremely artistic and made Blaine's birthday sign for his party. 4.) Bo takes amazing pictures of Audrey and Blaine's sports and distributes to parents each week. Reston Little League even used one of his pictures in an ad! 5.) Daily Blaine helps a young man in his class with learning English tapping into to his ability to connect with others even without words. 6.) Lisa donated her time and talents to give free drama classes at a local community center. 7.) Kyra taught her Mom a yoga class. I am loving the loving kindness energy we are sharing in! How can you use your skills to be kind and give back? We would love to hear from you!! First, on reflecting on our March Kindness Challenge, I am already feeling the vibe in our house shift. Typically times of Audrey and Blaine bantering have shifted to talking about our acts of kindness, which was my intention to spread kindness versus being caught up in our story of Me, Myself and I. Day 2's idea is spending true undivided time with loved ones. Last night, at Audrey's soccer practice, Blaine and I explored and moved the full 1.5 hours. Typically, I will sit and read or do work and only play with him a portion of the time. I decided to be kind to both of us and enjoy our time together. His energy is infectious. Take time to fully be in the presence of a loved one. If you have kids, allow them to lead the way and PLAY on their terms. Schedule a play date to move and enjoy life! Below is a video from last night and one from a recent family farm visit in which Blaine encouraged me to jump and have fun! Undivided time with loved ones is a two way exchange of kindness. Hugs are free and feel amazing! #marchkindnesschallenge #spreadgoodness #hugs |
